Smarter Parking for ARAMCO
Hidden losses from misuse and theft are draining fleet budgets — IoT can put you back in control.

The challenge
ARAMCO’s core parking facility in Dhahran spans 9 zones and includes over 1,770 parking slots. Despite the large capacity, employees and visitors routinely struggled to find available spaces, leading to wasted time and excessive fuel consumption. Compounding the issue, the entire facility is outdoors and lacked access to power, making traditional parking management systems infeasible.
Key pain points
- No electrical infrastructure at the parking site.
- Inefficient traffic flow and lack of visibility into slot availability.
- Long search times and fuel waste across a vast parking area.
- Heavy reliance on manual control to guide vehicles in real time.
The solution
To address these challenges, LTS implemented a Smart Parking System designed for remote environments and large-scale deployment:
- Solar-Based Smart Poles provided self-sufficient power for sensors and displays.
- A Cloud-Hosted System enabled secure, real-time data access and analytics.
- VPN Connectivity ensured all communication remained protected and isolated from public networks.
- LED Display Panels were installed at each parking zone entrance, showing live availability to guide drivers instantly.
- The system was deployed across all 1,774 parking slots and 11 entry/exit gates, optimizing flow across the entire area.

Implementation highlights
- 1,774 parking slots covered
- 100% solar-powered smart poles
- VPN-secured network architecture
- Cloud-hosted management system
- Real-time LED display guidance
- Multi-zone entry and exit control
- Seamless, autonomous operation
Business impact
The system delivered immediate and measurable benefits:
- Reduced time and fuel consumption for all site users.
- Streamlined traffic flow with minimal manual intervention.
- Increased security through encrypted data transmission.
- Improved visitor experience with clear parking guidance at every entry point.
By eliminating the need for power infrastructure and significantly reducing reliance on manpower, ARAMCO successfully transitioned to a fully automated, scalable smart parking solution—setting a new benchmark in facility efficiency.
